Jesse Edwards The Southern Migrant By Renardo Edwards There are people whom are a living history and a bridge from the past to the present and one of those people is our very own Family Patriarch, Jesse Edwards. Jesse is the third child of Cora and Thomas Edwards he was born on December 21 1941 in Potter Station, Alabama. Jesse early childhood was one of a happy child even though he was raised in the Jim Crow south. Family was very important in those days much of one’s socialization and education was formed in a tight knit family village, listening to him reminisce how they all live and work together was something of amazement and wonder. Gone are those days.  You’re not budgeting You’re not 100% focused on your lowest balance Your income and expenses are remaining the same Your spouse isn’t on board You aren’t consistent You aren’t tracking your progress This is the step that I struggle with. The Debt Snowball. It would be easier to pretend like I didn’t have issues with this, but I am not. Most wounds don’t heal unless exposed. After Renardo and I remarried, we began budgeting, saving, and hustling for our dream…owning a home. We managed to obtain our dream only to slide back into old habits. After obtaining our home, we generated more debt. We recently bought a new house, a new car, among other things. We were sensible in our purchases, and can afford everything we bought, but we did not go in the direction that was most beneficial to us. Debt reduction. My family and I have a text messaging group to discuss stocks to look into. This group includes my sisters, nieces, and nephews. My mother has also joined the stock talking discussions and does research on what individuals discuss. We discuss electric vehicles, pharmaceuticals, cryptocurrency, technology, and more.
